  • Oxwich Parlour

    Oxwich Parlour

The Oxwich is based on a late 19th century instrument by the makers Lyon & Healy, albeit a much-updated version to bring it into the 21st century.

These guitars were, in their day, immensely popular because of their sweet tone. But were soon overshadowed by larger and louder acoustic guitars of the 20th century. Thankfully Parlour guitars are enjoying a renaissance as players rediscover their playability, compact size and sweet voice.

Gone are the enormous necks and heavy ladder soundboard bracing. I have replaced these with a slimmer, more modern feeling neck and a much lighter scalloped x braced soundboard to enable the guitar to really sing.

    Scale Length: 627mm (24.7in)

    Nut Width: 45mm

Neck to Body Join: 12th Fret

Body Width at Lower Bout: 317.5 mm (12.5in)

    Bracing: Modified ‘X’ Bracing

Soundboard: Alpine, Sitka Spruce or Western red Cedar

Back and Sides: Mahogany, Maple, Walnut, or Rosewood

    Neck: Mahogany or Walnut

    Fingerboard and Bridge: Ebony

Binding: Choice of different woods and levels of trim

    Price: From £3,000.00
